The end of June is drawing near, and I haven’t even mentioned #JuneDairyMonth once. The former dairy princess in me is ashamed, so I’m going to squeeze a dairy recipe in!
Are you looking for a new recipe to use at picnics and get-togethers this summer? Here’s a Kilgore family favorite – Pennsylvania Dutch Blueberry Torte.
It’s simple to make, and better yet, is sure to be a hit at all of your gatherings this season. Plus, with butter, whipping cream and cream cheese as key ingredients, you will get a healthy dose of dairy in your diet! Celebrate the deliciousness of dairy all summer long.
Pennsylvania Dutch Blueberry Torte
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup + 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 pint whipping cream
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 8 oz. package of cream cheese
- 1 can of blueberry pie filling
To make crust, blend sugar, flour and butter. Pat mixture into a 9 inch x13 inch dish, and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool.
Beat whipping cream, confectioners’ sugar and cream cheese until creamy. Layer onto crust. Top with can of pie filling. Refrigerate and then enjoy!
